Description:
Avocin capsules contain clindamycin hydrochloride, a semi-synthetic antibiotic belonging to the lincosamide class. It is primarily indicated for the treatment of serious bacterial infections caused by susceptible organisms, especially in individuals who are allergic to penicillin. Avocin is commonly used in infections of the skin, respiratory tract, bone and joint, and intra-abdominal infections. It is also recommended as prophylaxis for infective endocarditis in dental and upper respiratory procedures for patients allergic to beta-lactams.

Directions:
Administer orally with water. Adult dosage typically ranges from 600 to 2400 mg per day, divided into 2–4 equal doses depending on the severity of infection. Pediatric dosing: 8–25 mg/kg/day in 3–4 divided doses. Dosage may vary based on specific condition and clinical judgement.
